Exercise Pool Deck
We had a customer who’s son was disabled and used swimming as a form of exercise and therapy. The catch was though, he could not get into or out of a normal above ground exercise pool from his wheelchair. We came up with this design, where we dug a pit into the ground and lined it with concrete walls and had the pool put into it at a height that would be accessible for the customers son. We then framed a redwood deck around it. The only catch was, that after the pool was in and the deck was surrounding it, there needed to be a way to access the control panel and inner workings of the pool for future maintenance and repairs. Our solution was simple, we made 3 panels on the control side of the deck that could be removed to gain access to service it.
